WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION – PACKAGE J

The Ho Chi Minh City Water Environment Improvement Project – Phase II was implemented to increase wastewater treatment capacity and contribute to improving the water environment in Ho Chi Minh City.

As part of the project, VINA E&C participated in Package J – Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion in Binh Hung Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. POSCO E&C Co., Ltd. was the project partner/general contractor.

SCOPE OF WORK

The principal scope of work included:

  • Reinforced-concrete works for wastewater treatment tanks.

  • Construction of reinforced-concrete walls, base slabs and top slabs.

  • Reinforced-concrete works for associated sediment pits and return-sludge pits.

  • Construction of construction joints and expansion joints.

  • Waterproofing works for structures within the package.

  • Construction of Staircases G and H.

  • Construction of drainage works and the bypass road.

PRINCIPAL CONSTRUCTION QUANTITIES

  • Concrete: 41,589 m³.

  • Formwork: 81,963 m².

  • Reinforcing steel: 4,689 tonnes.

  • Construction and expansion joints: 8,260 m.

DEMONSTRATED CAPABILITIES

The project demonstrates VINA E&C’s capabilities in delivering large-scale technical infrastructure and wastewater treatment works, particularly complex reinforced-concrete structures.

The integrated execution of concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, joint treatment, waterproofing and auxiliary infrastructure required effective construction management, technical coordination and strict control of safety, quality and schedule.

VINA E&C participated in Waterline Package A under the Design–Build–Operate Project for the Nhieu Loc–Thi Nghe Wastewater Treatment Plant. The scope included civil works for the waterline and auxiliary facilities in Area A, involving approximately 36,000 m³ of concrete and 3,900 tonnes of reinforcing steel.

SIX SENSES SAIGON RIVER ECO-URBAN DEVELOPMENT

VINA E&C participated in site-grading and villa-construction works for the Six Senses Saigon River Eco-Urban Development in Dai Phuoc Commune, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province. The scope included site formation for Areas 2A, 2B and the Resort Area, together with the construction of 76 villas.

Package L – Shoreline Protection Works, Long Son Petrochemicals Complex

VINA E&C participated in Package L – Shoreline Protection Works under the Long Son Petrochemicals Complex Project. The scope included port revetments, site formation, internal roads, soft-soil treatment using PVD, flood-protection and drainage systems, a firewater tank and a pump house.

Hung Thai Technical Infrastructure, Warehousing And Maritime Service Port

VINA E&C participated in the construction of technical infrastructure, warehousing facilities and the Hung Thai Maritime Service Port in Phu My Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. The scope included two warehouses with a combined area of 39,482 m², internal roads, a weighbridge, piling works, dredging and a cargo berth.

DIOXIN REMEDIATION AT BIEN HOA AIRBASE – PACKAGE CW1

VINA E&C participates in Package CW1 under the Dioxin Remediation at Bien Hoa Airbase Project. The scope includes construction of a 150,000 m³ Pre-Treatment Storage Area, excavation and transportation of up to 270,000 m³ of dioxin-contaminated soil and sediment, and associated treatment, storage and technical infrastructure.
