MAJOR REHABILITATION OF BERTHS NO. 5 AND NO. 6 – VIETSOVPETRO PORT

The Major Rehabilitation of Berths No. 5 and No. 6 at Vietsovpetro Port for Accommodating Vessels of up to 10,000 DWT is being implemented at Vietsovpetro Port, on the left bank of the Dinh River, Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The project falls under the transportation and seaport construction sector and requires a high level of technical expertise, construction planning and quality control due to the specialized conditions of marine infrastructure works.

SCOPE OF WORK

The main construction activities include:

Demolition and removal of the existing reinforced concrete berth structures, together with dredging of the underwater area.
Installation of more than 11,500 metres of D600-C PHC piles for the berth foundation system.
Construction of the berth’s beam, deck and pier structures, using more than 3,700 m³ of M450-B12 concrete and over 500 tonnes of reinforcing steel.
Installation of the fender and mooring bollard systems, together with approximately 192 metres of quayside crane rails.
Construction of the M&E, lighting and technical infrastructure systems required for berth operations.

PROJECT SCALE AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Upon completion, Berths No. 5 and No. 6 will be upgraded to meet operational requirements and accommodate vessels of up to 10,000 DWT.

The simultaneous execution of multiple work packages—from demolition of existing structures, underwater construction and pile foundations to reinforced concrete structures, equipment installation and technical infrastructure—requires integrated construction management and rigorous control of safety, quality and schedule.

Through this project, VINA E&C continues to demonstrate its capabilities in delivering technically demanding transportation, seaport and infrastructure works, while further strengthening its experience in the rehabilitation, upgrading and development of port facilities serving industrial and oil and gas operations.
