USAID visited the Dioxin Remediation at Bien Hoa Airbase Area Project

On November 21, 2022, USAID Assistant Administrator for Asia Bureau Michael Schiffer and U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City visited the Dioxin Remediation at Bien Hoa Airbase Area Project, where USAID and Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) are working on a joint project to remediate dioxin contamination and saw firsthand the work in progress on the site. In 2019, the United States and Vietnam launched this project, which is expected to remediate almost 500,000 cubic meters of dioxin-contaminated soil and sediment and take 10 years to complete.
