29.06.2024

On the afternoon of June 28, the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City organized the 248th anniversary celebration of the United States Independence Day (4-7-1776 - 4-7-2024). The event was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper and former President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang.

During her speech at the ceremony, U.S. Consul General Susan Burns in Ho Chi Minh City praised the bilateral relations between the United States and Vietnam. She highlighted that since elevating to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023, the bilateral relationship has grown stronger than ever. Burns emphasized that this year's Independence Day theme was "The Ocean," aiming to honor the efforts of both nations in marine environmental protection. While acknowledging the vast opportunities the ocean brings, she also pointed out that it serves as a starting point to address significant contemporary issues such as climate change and human-induced pollution. Consul General Burns affirmed the United States' full support for Vietnam's efforts in marine environmental protection. She noted that leaders from both countries have set ambitious goals to eliminate single-use plastics and enhance recycling capabilities jointly.

During his address at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, highlighted that nearly a year since Vietnam and the United States upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development, both sides have actively promoted specific cooperative activities. This has deepened and sustained bilateral relations, focusing on cooperation in economic, scientific and technological fields, education and training, environment, energy, and healthcare.

During this occasion, Mr. Vu Van Liem, the CEO, and Mr. Mai Huu Nghi, Director of Construction Management Division 2 at VINA E&C, also participated, demonstrating the company's commitment and concern for environmental conservation and sustainable national development. VINA E&C pledges its commitment to the quality, progress, and effectiveness of environmental-related projects currently underway in Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa.

With this strong strategic vision and commitment, VINA E&C aims to actively contribute to building a green, clean, and beautiful living environment. The company is dedicated to partnering with communities and society in environmental protection and sustainable development efforts.
