On March 4, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the runway and taxiway rehabilitation project at Lien Khuong International Airport (Lam Dong Province) was officially held.
The project is invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) with a total investment of over VND 1,032 billion.
After nearly 20 years of continuous operation, the runway and taxiway system has shown signs of deterioration. The project aims to enhance operational capacity, ensure aviation safety, and meet future development demands.
The scope includes full rehabilitation of the runway, taxiways, runway safety areas, and technical infrastructure systems. A key highlight is replacing asphalt pavement with high-durability concrete pavement, improving load-bearing capacity for modern aircraft.
As a participating contractor, VINA E&C is proud to contribute to this significant aviation infrastructure project, supporting regional connectivity and socio-economic development in the Central Highlands.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, construction is being implemented under a “3 shifts – 4 crews” plan, targeting completion and reopening by August 25, 2026.
Upon completion, the airport will meet ICAO 4E standards, capable of handling wide-body aircraft such as Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, with a targeted capacity of 5 million passengers per year by 2030 and 7 million by 2050.
